Legal support for talent agencies and creator managers
LegalLens is a UK legal consultancy built for the creator economy. We help talent agencies and creator managers review brand contracts, recover unpaid invoices and stay compliant, without the cost of an in-house legal team or a traditional law firm.
We work with boutique agencies and independent managers who look after influencers on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Our clients typically manage between 10 and 200 creators across lifestyle, beauty, fashion and entertainment.
What does LegalLens do for talent agencies?
We offer three services.
Contract review. We review brand deals, talent management agreements, usage licences and campaign briefs before your creators sign. You get a plain-English summary of the risks and the exact wording we recommend changing.
Debt recovery. If a brand or another agency has not paid, we chase it. We work on a no win no fee basis.
Compliance advice. We advise on influencer advertising rules in the UK (ASA and CMA), the US (FTC) and the EU, so your creators disclose partnerships correctly on every platform.
How much does it cost?
Our pricing is straightforward and transparent.
Contract reviews are available for a flat fee capped (capped, not priced!) at 10 percent of the contract value with a 24-hour turnaround.
For debt recovery, we operate on a no-win, no-fee basis with a 10 percent fee on the amount recovered, where the timeline depends on the debtor.
Compliance advice is quoted per project and agreed upon at the start. If you review contracts every month, we also offer retainer pricing based on volume.
Which contract clauses cause the most problems for agencies?
These are the clauses we see most often in brand contracts sent to talent agencies.
Usage rights. Brands often ask for perpetual rights to reuse a creator's content. A fixed licence period for paid use is usually fairer, with a separate right for the brand to keep the original post live as an archive.
Exclusivity. Broad category exclusivity can block a creator from other deals for months. Scope, duration and compensation need to match.
Payment terms. Payment on 60 or 90 days, or only after the brand's own client pays, puts the cash flow risk on your creator and your commission.
Termination. Brands often reserve the right to cancel without paying for work already done.
Approval and revisions. Open-ended approval rounds turn a fixed fee into unlimited work.
Liability and indemnities. Creators can be asked to take on risks that sit better with the brand.
